Taller Marmo’s love affair with Rossy De Palma

ESTABLISHED in 2013 by Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea, the luxury brand Taller Marmo has become synonymous with effortless glamour – think opulent, fine fabrics that form chic kaftans that call to the red carpet.

After all, its name derives from the Spanish word for ‘laboratory’ and the Italian word for ‘marble’ which perfectly encapsulates their brand: one where attention to detail is acute, innovative techniques are displayed, and only the finest materials will do. The result?

A label that embodies a modern, spirited approach to evening-wear, offering elegant dresses and kaftans that exude happiness. 

This is where Spanish model and actress, Rossy De Palma, comes into action, fronting Taller Marmo’s latest campaign entitled, ‘A Love Affair.’

She has graced the screens and mood boards of the brand, and via an introduction by stylist Alba Melendo, their friendship with Rossy blossomed, and keeping with the Spanish theme, of course, it was shot in Madrid.

A natural fit for the brand, Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea says, “Rossy is one of the most FABULOUS, ICONIC, ARTISTIC, and KIND people we have ever had the honour to meet”. He continues, “For years, Rossy De Palma has been on our mood boards and screens, thanks to our favourite Almodovar movies. A few years ago, Alba Melendo introduced us, and a virtual friendship blossomed. Early this year, we finally met Rossy in person and got to work with her on this shoot in Madrid on a beautiful Sunday”. 

They continue, “It felt like a family affair, with Francesco Scotti photographing her, Alba Melendo directing the fashion vision, and Maria Bravo Ruiz assisting. The masterful video was done by Rafa de Pazos and his team. Hair and makeup were by Fernando Martinez”.

Modelling the PF24 collection, expect classic hits alongside summer staples, on silhouettes Riccardo and Yago say are perfectly adaptable to city life and can be worn from day to night, with a line that features “chic asymmetrical kaftans with high-low hems, jumpsuits that have been reimagined with the iconic Taller Marmo one-shoulder silhouette, and halter-neck styles adorned with metallic hardware for a touch of sophistication, balancing the easiness and nonchalance of summer with the elegance and sophistication of eveningwear”. 

A brand that doesn’t shy away from statement shapes and colours, “The combination of black and ivory stands as a recurrent motif for the brand, and in this collection, it manifests in revisited signature pieces adorned with striking frames crafted using the intarsia technique”.

On colour palette, think monochromatic that’s “punctuated by earthy tones such as forest green and ecru, except for the vivid mandarin hue”. Fans of the brand will also notice the absence of shine, a deliberate move by the designers to channel an understated sophisticated aesthetic.

Their fabrics, as always, have been sourced from one of Como’s oldest silk mills, a long-standing supplier to the brand for the past decade.

And talking of decades, it’s a big year for Taller Marmo, as the brand will celebrate its 10th anniversary at the end of the year; “2024 was a key year for the brand during which we grow and reinforce our awareness. In the first half of the year, we opened our first online boutique, we celebrated our new headquarters in Milan ‘Casa Taller Marmo’ and we launched our first destination-wear line (from this PF24 collection)”.
